Our Little Man is 1!

The swiftest hours, as they flew! It feels like it was only yesterday that he and I were alone in the hospital room. I held him in my arms - he was so tiny and fragile that I couldn't take my eyes off him - and he was only a day old. I have to pinch myself, he is now one year old!

It was a double celebration: his 1st birthday and baptism. For this occasion, we chose the Little Man theme.

To my favourite boy in the entire universe:

"Exactly one year ago today, at 12:40 midnight, you came into our lives. I held you for the first time, we gazed at each other and between sobs I whispered in your ear, “Hi baby, I’ve been waiting for you..” We were oblivious to all the commotion in the room and for a beautiful moment it was just you and I. I remember you nestling in my arms in the dark, empty bay that night, with only a gleam coming from a streetlight through the window. I was sleepless, sore and severely anaemic but all that did not matter. I just could not stop thanking God that you are in our world, safe and sound.

You taught me what wild, invincible, boundless, unconditional love feels like. You made us Mama and Dada. I made my first-time-mommy mistakes - thank you for not getting hurt, for being a strong boy and for not holding a grudge. 😉 I have many hopes and dreams for you, but above all I wish that you'd buy me a house & lot - sorry, just kidding, that's for Dada hehe - I wish you good health, happiness, security and may you grow up to be a righteous and God-fearing man. The world is yours for the taking.
