Scotland

My ex-boyfriend always takes me to new places for my birthday ever since we started going out and every year we take turns picking a different place or country to go to. This year it was his turn and I am tickled pink he chose Scotland to rock my birthday! Two words to describe the entire journey: aaaama ziiiing! It was by far the longest road trip and very laidback holiday we ever had filled with stunning sceneries, spectacular rainbows, quality times, lazy afternoon walks, cosy fireplace, lovely sunrises & sunsets, idyllic beaches & lochs, majestic waterfalls and many cute fat ass sheep! I am totally in love!
A very foggy morning and Willow's nose prints on the car window. lol
The Highlands
Irvin gave me the liberty to choose the accommodation. I wanted an absolute Scottish experience so I opted for a really old croft house, tucked away on a hillside with impressive views of the north coast of Sutherland, where I can wake up to a beautiful sunrise with a cuppa while Willow run around the fields. Say hello to Kips Cottage! A perfect spot for 'getting away from it all'.

Our first cosy fire.
It took us almost twenty hours to get there, leaving Southampton at 2am and arriving in Bettyhill at 10pm. Bless my ex-boyfriend, he did not complain - not even once!! The day was mostly foggy and misty and I have never seen so many rainbows in one day! It was pitch dark all over when we got to the cottage and we could only hear the sound of the waves. When I got out of bed the next morning (day two), I was simply stunned by the beautiful views from the kitchen windows! And imagine my surprise when I opened the drapes of the French doors! See photos below. :)
Just fab! I want to live here like forever.
From afar I could see Irvin and Willow coming back from their walk. I clapped my hands to get their attention. They saw me waving, Irvin waved back and they ran towards the house.

Irvin+Willow+rainbow = a perfect morning

And it's not just me. Willow wants to live here too! Look at how she was eyeing the sheep! She seemed contented though. Who wouldn't be?

Willow turned 6 months (soon won't be a puppy anymore!) and I turned 3*! :) I had a roll-licking birthday! Shout-out to my ex-boyfriend and Willow for giving me the time of my life.
Moved my heart...

We didn't have any sticky glue (but I had a needle & a thread - of all things!) so I sewn the calling card to the page. Hope they don't mind. :)

Til next time, Kips! We miss you already!

  2. Love this place, my brother and I grew up in these mountains and in this house. Kips cottage was named after my Granny who lived here, Kip being her nickname. Unfortunately she has passed now and sadly I haven't been back for many years. Some great times!
